ESPN released the official list of its English language play-by-play match announcers for this summer’s World Cup. You can read about it here. The men: Ian Darke, Jon Champion, Adrian Healey, Daniel Mann, Fernando Palomo and Derek Rae.

Though we’re still waiting for an American voice to break through on this stage (John Strong some day, perhaps?) this is a strong list. And it includes Ian Darke, whose vocal chords were blessed by uncountable masses of deities and then dipped in liquid platinum. Or whatever.

Going through USMNT withdrawals? Aren’t we all. So here’s a reminder that there was a Hex and some really fun things happened and then *poof* the U.S. is going to Brazil. Magic and whatnot.
