Robert Griffin III doesn’t know who Alex Morgan is – say, what?

Can someone please loosen the helmet of Robert Griffin III – you know, let some oxygen in there?

The Baylor Heisman Trophy winning quarterback – and soon to be ‘Randy Moss-straight-cash-homey’ paid star in the NFL – made an unforgiveable mistake last week when he confused (my) Alex Morgan with her U.S. WNT teammate Tobin Heath (like, how?).

After Griffin met Heath during an outing last week, he tweeted about his excitement in meeting Morgan (who was actually Heath) only to have the real Morgan tweet him the correction that he’d actually met Heath … you following this?

I sometimes have trouble keeping names with faces, but not when it’s the face of U.S. Women’s Soccer! And not when it’s (deep breath) Alex (deep breath) Morgan.

Griffin tried to salvage his error with a closing tweet after the jump.

Matt Barkley’s girlfriend digs soccer

USC quarterback Matt Barkley is, without a doubt, the Big Man on Campus. He’s the face of a Trojans football team that will likely start next season as one of the top ranked teams in the nation.

He is considered the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy, and is sure to be one of the top players taken in the 2013 NFL Draft.

He also has great taste.

His girlfriend, Brittany Langdon, is not only easy on the eyes but she’s at ease on the pitch as well – she’s a midfielder on the Seattle Pacific University soccer team. Langdon scored only one goal last year for the Falcons, but then, she has scored herself a quarterback.

Like Barkley, Langdon will be a senior in the fall.

Who knows what the future holds for these two lovebirds, but Barkley reminds us that everyone, even the BMoC, swoons for soccer players.
