With yet another goal over the weekend, high-scoring American Clint Dempsey passed another milestone, his 50th goal in the English Premier League.

Dempsey scored directly from a free kick against Sunderland in Fulham’s 2-1 win, and it was just another notch on the belt of a scoring ace having a sensational season – easily the best by an American abroad.

Dempsey has scored in so many different ways as well: on the volley, headers, shots from distance, and most recently, he’s added free kicks to his repertoire. There’s little questioning just how good of a year he’s had, and it’s perfect timing for Jurgen Klinsmann and the men’s national team with World Cup qualifying officially beginning in June.

Before worrying about where he might play in the fall (Dempsey’s contract expires in 2013 and he’s yet to re-sign with Fulham), for now let’s take a step back and admire the portfolio of goals he’s put together – including his latest after the jump.

Papiss Cisse!

I think I just got misty-eyed. The Newcastle striker hit this one without a conscience, a ball that had so much movement we should call in the ballistics unit. What a goal.

Advantage Cristiano Ronaldo. The Real Madrid star won his El Clasico battle with Messi Saturday, delivering this winner to beat Barcelona and virtually clinch the La Liga title.

Great stuff. Now can we please get a rematch in the Champions League Final?
