Few players at the upcoming MLS Combine bring a similar background with them to Florida like Michael Salazar.

Salazar arrives at this week’s combine after a sterling career at UC Riverside. But that’s not where his story began.

Born in New York, Salazar moved to his parents’ native Belize, where he lived for 18 years. He returned to the United States for a year of high school, before beginning his college career at Cal Baptist. After winning an NCCAA title, the dynamic and speedy forward transferred to Riverside for the final three seasons of his college eligibility.

A dual citizen of both the United States and Belize, Salazar is a potential first round pick in the upcoming MLS Draft. TDS caught up with him ahead of the combine.

These highlights open with a once freshman Ryan Clark nailing a pressure-packed penalty kick. In the three years that have elapsed since then, the Monmouth midfielder has accomplished quite a bit while earning plenty of Northeast Conference honors along the way.

Clark will be attending the MLS Combine next week as an alternate and the above snapshot of his college career should tell you why.

James Madison baller Paul Wyatt is headed to the MLS Combine next week with the rest of the top players in college soccer. After terrorizing the Colonial Athletic Association for four years, he’s ready to take the next step to the pro ranks.

Featured above is a six-minute snap shot of Wyatt in action and it may or may not have one of the best highlight reel soundtracks I’ve ever heard (it just makes me happy). Also of note – besides, you know, Wyatt’s soccer skill – is that James Madison apparently has a giant blow-up Bulldog at their home games (first appearance at 52 seconds). Never knew this. Note to self: attend more James Madison home games.
