Our boys IMG Top 150 class of 2020 is still rounding itself into a discernible shape. Most of these kids are, after all, still grinding away at the U16 level at the oldest. But it’s a good place to start if you’re looking for some of the top up-and-coming USYNT prospects, and your eyes might quickly alight on No. 5 after seeing this wicked golazo.

If you’ve never been acquainted, say hello to Sporting KC U16 maestro Gianluca Busio.

The MLS Goal of the Year vote is the single best award meted out in the postseason honorific tour. It is more prestigious than the MVP award because I said so, and that is in reality the only proof you need, I think.

This year’s award went to SKC’s Krisztian Nemeth, who embarrassed Diego Chara and Nat Borchers before fitting his effort inside the far post.

Goalkeeper is a funny position. The level of neuroticism, self-reliance and sheer obstinance it takes to be a top keeper pretty much excludes most young players from consideration. There are young keepers in the world doing incredible things (Courtois, De Gea et al), but they’re the decided minority. In this realm, 30 is hardly the start of the downslope. In most cases its the beginning of a long plateau at the summit.

Jon Kempin’s slowly becoming the next keeper to watch in MLS. The SKC Homegrown won this week’s MLS Save of the Week with his strong-wristed save of Darren Mattocks’ howitzer to his right. SKC didn’t win the game, but it could’ve been even worse had Kempin not popped up with this save. At just 21, we may soon by slotting Kempin’s name next to the likes of Sean Johnson and Bill Hamid as young keepers to monitor in MLS.

That’s what the under-the-table, ethically dubious Russian oil market is for.

If you’re OK with this culture of winner-buy-all, then perhaps this won’t matter much to you. And to be sure, there are pockets globally where it’s less pronounced. But if seeing the little guy repeatedly having his jaw rearranged by Gordon Gekko’s henchmen wears on you, the MLS playoffs are currently providing a fresh gust of wind in a relatively a stale upper atmosphere.

Sporting Kansas City wants to wish you a happy holiday and especially Teal Bunbury. The club put together a collection of tweets from its franchise and Bunbury pretty much steals the show by reminding us ‘tis the season to be swaggy.

Yes, Teal, I’d almost forgotten what the holiday spirit is about. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go drink eggnog out of a diamond encrusted pimp cup then head down to a homeless shelter and make it rain.
