We’re counting down the top 5 goals from the World Cup to this point. Find out if Cahill or RVP grabs the number one spot.
Sau Paulo Goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni deserves his spot at #1. It’s not everyday you see a GK come up for a free-kick and actually score. At #2, Adam Moffat from the Dynamo represents for MLS. At #3, Clarence Seedorf is no stranger to this list. Although Claudio Bieler scored the goal at #4, I think it’s fair to say that the entire Sporting KC squad deserves credit. Who knew that MLS knew how to play tiki-taka? Rounding off the top 5 is Keisuke Honda and his patient approach on a goal Messi would have been proud of. One goal that didn’t make the cut, but definitely deserved to be mentioned came during DA finals week. Watch Christian Lucatero’s (Houston Dynamo U16’s) ridiculous free kick goal after the jump.
The European soccer season is almost in the books.
With just one massive Champions League final to go, leagues across Europe are starting to wrap up. The English Premier League, which already crowned Manchester United as its champion, concluded with a full slate of action on Sunday.
Arsenal managed to get the three points it needed to finish in fourth and grab a coveted spot in next year’s Champions League, besting local rivals Tottenham, which won but came up short on the day.
With the league in the books, Fox Soccer offers up its best goals of the 2012-13 campaign. Some cracking tallies in there.
It’s Friday so we know exactly what you need: you need the weekend. In the meantime, check out the top 10 goals of the week. The goal at 1:30 deserved all three replays.
With the return of the Champions league and a weekend full of Premiere League action, there were plenty of goals to choose from. Above are the 5 from week. Which goal was the best?
I would put Zlatan on top of Mexes, but then again what do I know. The absence of CR7 leaves me wanting more. Here’s to another great year of goals next year. Cheers.
We continue our look back at 2012 with our lists of the Best and Worst of 2012. We’ve already reviewed brawls and images, so today we relive a few of the top goals. Here’s the list:
3. Lionel Messi’s ENTIRE SEASON. Ok, this is kind of cheating but we didn’t feel comfortable compiling a list of top goals without including Messi, and we also didn’t feel comfortable picking just one of Messi’s goals. So that’s how we came to this.
2. Danny Welbeck backheel. I thought this was the best goal of Euro 2012. Super precise, imaginative, and it literally me spill my glass of apple juice (I was eating it with graham crackers just before my nap) .
1. Zlatan Ibrahimovic motorcycle kick. I don’t care if this was just a friendly. We may never see anything like this again. So good, we had to create a new term to describe it.
