The ECNL Girls finals were as high-quality as anticipated, with five different clubs walking away with championships in the U13 to U17 age groups.

Under 13: Slammers HB Koge 4-0 Sting Black

The U13 final was all Slammers, who put Dallas Sting under immense pressure from kick-off. That pressure proved to be too much in the 17th minute, when Peyton Bauer scored on a composed finish, quickly followed by a stunning long-range strike by Kayda Ezinkwo.

Simone Tohill joined the party to end the first half, picking up the ball at the halfway line, then dribbling past the last defender before blasting past the keeper. Corinne Nam rounded out the scoring in the second half, capitalizing on a misplaced pass before chipping the goalkeeper.

Under 14: San Diego Surf 3-2 Slammers HB Koge

In a thrilling all-California matchup, San Diego Surf completed a perfect 22-0 season by defeating Slammers HB Koge 3-2 to win a second straight trophy. The champions struck first as Kensington McGrath was fouled just outside the eighteen, allowing Amelie Wagner to score a left-footed free kick. Slammers equalized shortly after as Hailey Cook and Charlie McTheny combined, as they had all tournament, with the former sending in a cross that the latter converted with a towering header.

Surf relied on its own dynamic duo to regain the lead, as Wagner slipped in a brilliant through ball that McGrath slotted into the bottom corner. Not to be deterred, Slammers equalized once more when former Surf player Radha Sonthalia effortlessly found the bottom corner from 14 yards out after McTheny did well to keep the ball alive. That rounded out the scoring in a breathless first half, with the rivals tied 2-2.

The second half was played at a calmer pace as both teams patiently sought an opening. The breakthrough finally came with ten minutes remaining as Stella Falis fired in a pass to McGrath, who then played a perfect 1-2 with Ariah Dominguez before converting the game winner. Slammers pushed admirably for an equalizer, but Stella Boyd denied them time and time again in goal.

Under 15: So Cal Blues 2-0 Concorde Fire Platinum

So Cal Blues shut out Concorde to win the U15 ECNL title, with both goals coming in the opening period. Francoise Van Zweeden created space on the wing before delivering a stunning cross that Kendall Cahill headed home at the back post. The second goal came from another brilliant pass, this time from Remie Teel, whose clever reverse through ball was finished by a composed Kate Cintron.

An undermanned Concorde team that did well to reach the final despite several injuries to key players pushed for a way back into the game, but was denied time and time again by a standout So Cal defense led by tournament MVP Brazil Crockett at center back.

Under 16: Real Colorado 3-1 Michigan Hawks

The U16 final did not disappoint, as Real Colorado held on to deny the Michigan Hawks a second straight title. The defending champions dealt the first blow as USYNT star Nyashadzashe Chinyadza delivered a scorching long-range shot that rattled in off the post. It would not take long for Real Colorado to reply as Emma Kelly lived every player’s dream by scoring a right-footed volley from just outside the eighteen to bring the game to 1-1.

Whatever was said at halftime had the immediate desired effect. Kelly again stepped up to the plate to score a world-class long-range goal, this time with her left foot just two minutes after play began. With that lead, Real Colorado played on the counter, which led to the third goal as Julia Dern carried from one eighteen to the other before producing a cross that ultimately led to Anaya Bursey taking a blocked shot that Emmanuelle Kasperson redirected for the 3-1 lead.

From there, it was the Molly Gaffney show as the shot stopper pulled off one world-class save after another to deny Chinyadza and hand her team the trophy.

Under 17: FC Dallas 1-0 Matchfit Surf

FC Dallas came out on top, winning 1-0, in a highly tactical clash versus Matchfit Surf. While the East Coast squad looked to use the pace and directness of Hope Ernst, Gianna Hanf, and Jordyn Sullivan on the counter, FC Dallas sought to control the tempo, particularly through Trinity Morrow and Ryleigh Albin at center back plus the highly composed Mya Muniz at defensive midfield.

The breakthrough finally came late in the second half as Muniz regained possession with a header, which Leila Iglesias anticipated quickest and poked past the keeper.
