CARSON, California - The ever expansive U.S. Soccer Development Academy made another move forward for the 2016-2017 season. The Federation’s venture into the elite club soccer world expanded into the U13 and U12 age group for this season.
As part of the move to include younger teams, the Federation also hosted a U13/U14 showcase event for clubs in the West region in Southern California during the first weekend of November. This season was the first time that the U13 teams were separated from the U14 age group after the two were combined for these events during the 2015-2016 campaign.
The U13 age group (players born in 2003) played on the opening day from the event on Friday at the National Training Center. TopDrawerSoccer was on hand for the first day. Check out the standout players from Friday as well as overall thoughts from the U13 age group of the Development Academy.
