Every player has their own pregame rituals that help put them in the right frame of mind. Chandler Gagnon, our No. 3 ranked Top 20 player for South Region 2011 graduates, is no different.
“I never tie my cleats, and I hate listening to music or talking before games,” Chandler said.
Hey, whatever works, he’s obviously doing something right. Gagnon recently helped his Tennessee Rush team win its fifth state title and will head to regionals with national goals on the mind.
The talented defender has decided on attending Memphis next season. But prior to that, he wants to help his high school group repeat as state champions. Along the way he’ll use his rituals and idiosyncrasies to fuel him.
“I play best when people talk trash to me,” he added.
Ok, this is getting a little out of hand.
Anyway, other top South Region players include Ive Burnett (2012), Willfred Williams (2013), Daniel Rutter (2014), Austen Parker (2015) and Tanner Dieterich (2016).
On the girls’ side we’ve got Alexandra Cook (2011), Sara Coleman (2012), Anna McClung (2013), Rachel Thun (2014) and Arielle Hansford (2015).
