USA Dominates Pan-American Opener
The U.S. Women's Pan-American Team won its opener on Sunday, defeating Bolivia by a 6-0 score.
A 4-0 lead at the halftime allowed the U.S. to cruise to a comfortable victory in its group opener. Ava McDonald scored two of her three goals before the break, with Amalia Villarreal and Emeria Adames bagging goals.
Villarreal extended the lead to 5-0 in the 59th minute, before McDonald scored for the third time.
This year marks the first time a women's youth side is competing at the comeptition since 2007. A tournament with no age-restriction, an all-club soccer team is competing.
Group B play continues on Wednesday, October 25 against Costa Rica.
