2013 women’s Hermann Trophy contenders
This year’s Hermann Trophy race is sure to be rather wide open in women’s college soccer.
Last fall, because of the Under-20 Women’s World Cup, a number of the top players in the college ranks missed significant chunks of the season competing with the United States, Canada or others over in Japan.
That didn’t stop Crystal Dunn from picking up the accolade, as she played a pivotal role in UNC’s championship run.
So with spring soccer going on at the moment, now is a time to take a look at some of the contenders for the individual honor during the upcoming season:
F Kealia Ohai, North Carolina
One of the linchpins of a loaded Tar Heel attack, Ohai is a handful up front and will certainly score her share of goals in 2013. And time and time again, stats prove to be the great decider when it comes to Hermann voters.
