FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas extended its winning streak Monday night with a 2-0 victory over UMKC at Razorback Field improving to 4-0 on the season for only the second time in program history.

The Razorbacks are one of only two undefeated and untied teams in the Southeastern Conference, sharing the top spot in the league with Alabama (4-0). South Carolina is 3-0-1 through four games into its season.

The game was a tight match until well into the second half when senior forward Alexandra Fischer scored her first goal of the season in the 62^nd minute of play to put Arkansas ahead 1-0. Sophomore defender Jessi Hartzler would seal the game for the Razorbacks in the 71^st minute by heading in a corner kick from senior midfielder Claire Kelley.

Arkansas led in shots 24-5 and corner kicks 9-5 with the Roos taking the advantage in saves 7-1.

Senior goalkeeper Cameron Carter improved to 4-0 for the year while notching her first shutout of the season and freshman midfielder Stefani Doyle added to her team-leading point total with the second-half assist to Fischer.

The Razorbacks will host Northern Iowa (1-2-1) Thursday night at 6 p.m. in a bid to win its fifth game in a row before heading on the road for matches against George Washington on Sept. 4 and Mississippi State on Sept. 9.
