Buccaneers Edged By Tars
MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—Barry fell 3-2 to Rollins in Sunshine State Conference women’s soccer action at Buccaneer Field on Saturday.
The game started out at a blistering pace with five goals scored in the first half, but neither team could crack the goal in the second period.
Rollins (7-4-0, 4-1-0 SSC) jumped out to a 3-0 lead as Brenna McKee scored twice and Azure Dorsey added one in the first 28 minutes.
Barry responded with a pair of goals from Sara Karna to close the period, but could get no closer.
The Tars held a 20-10 edge in shots, including 8-5 on goal. Mary Spring earned the win for Rollins with three saves, while Becca Rogers took the loss for Barry, making five stops.
The Bucs host the Saint Leo Lions on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 7:00 pm in an SSC “+4” game that will not count in the conference standings. Live-stat and video coverage is available through the Barry University athletics website, GOBARRYBUCS.COM.
