One weekend of action does not define a season, though the first games of the DI women's campaign shed some light on what teams might look like in 2016.

WIth upsets at a minimum, the changes were sparse in the second week of the TopDrawerSoccer.com DI women's Top 25 National Rankings.

Stanford maintains its position at the top spot, coming away from an East Coast trip with two wins, defeating Navy by a 2-1 score on Friday night, and charging past Georgetown with three second half tallies, winning 3-0 in the nation's capital.

No. 2 Florida State picked up a significant road, edging Texas A&M 1-0 in College Station. Deyna Castellanos scored a spectacular goal in the second minute, and that was all the Seminoles needed as they held firm in the face of the Aggies' attack.

Perhaps the most impressive offensive outburst of the opening stretch came from Duke, which beat Wofford and UCF by a combined 12-2 score. Nine different players scored in Friday's 9-1 victory against Wofford, as Duke checks in at No. 3.

With West Virginia and Penn State tying 1-1 on Friday night, Virginia jumps into the No. 4 spot, defeating in-state rivals Liberty and George Mason. Freshmen Alissa Gorzak and Taylor Ziemer both scored in their collegiate debut against Liberty on Friday.

Santa Clara secured two wins against ranked opponents. First, the Broncos topped USC 3-2 in overtime, before beating California 1-0, with both games coming at home. The wins moved Santa Clara into the No. 15 spot in this week's rankings.
