Hope Men's Soccer Loses At Trine

The Hope men's soccer team lost at Trine University 2-0 on Wednesday and dropped out of first place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings.
The loss snapped a four-match win streak for the Flying Dutchmen, ranked 17th in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America NCAA Division III rankings. They were 25th last week.
Hope fell to 11-4-1 overall and 7-3 in MIAA play. The Flying Dutchmen are now tied for second place in the league standings with Olivet.
Trine (3-11-1 overall) scored two first-half goals to propel itself to its first MIAA win in 10 league matches this season.
Hope returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 26 when it hosts Adrian at 5 p.m. at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
