HARRISONBURG, Va., Oct. 1, 2011 —James Madison kept its home record perfect as the Dukes shut out Northeastern 2-0 in Colonial Athletic Association men's soccer on a rainy Saturday evening at the JMU Soccer Complex.

JMU, which recorded its fourth straight shutout win, remains unbeaten (6-0-0) at home.  The Dukes have a 6-1-1 overall record and are 2-0-0 in the CAA.  Northeastern's overall record now stands at 5-4-1 and 1-1-0 in league play.

JMM junior Paul Wyatt (Modbury, England/Ivybridge) scored 9:33 into the game when he took advantage of a Northeastern miscue.  A Northeastern defender slipped on the wet field when receiving a pass from a teammate.  Wyatt controlled the ball, dribbled to his left and delivered a 16-yard shot to the right corner of the goal.

The Dukes' second goal came with under 15 minutes to play.  Redshirt junior Christian McLaughlin (Herndon, Va./Herndon) lofted a crossing pass into the box, where freshman Jamal Umar (Herndon, Va./Chantilly) headed the ball back across the box to senior Patrick Innes (Chester, Va./Thomas Dale), who one-timed a 10-yard shot into the left corner.

Wyatt scored his fourth goal in the last three games, while Innes netted his sixth goal in the last seven matches.

Dukes' redshirt senior goalkeeper Justin Epperson (Herndon, Va./Oakton) recorded his fourth straight shutout and fifth shutouts of the year, making two saves.
