BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Southwestern Athletic Conference has selected Aaliyah Lewis and Itia Pienimaki as its SWAC Soccer Players of the Week for September 23.

Lewis was named SWAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this year. She was also named the College Sports Madness SWAC Player of the Week for the third time this season. Pienimaki becomes the second player to earn defensive honors for ASU.

Lewis posted the first goal of the weekend for ASU earning her third score of the season. She logged the only goal for the Lady Hornets during the 2-1 loss to Jacksonville State in overtime play. Lewis followed with a hat trick on Sunday leading ASU to a 7-1 triumph over USC-Beaufort with three goals. She spearheaded the offense with a team highthree goals from five shots-on-goal. Lewis currently holds the top spot on the team in points (15), goals (6), and shots-on-goal (31).

Pienimaki has started in all 10 games for ASU on the season, accumulating 788 minutes of action, three shots-on-goal with a .714 SOG percentage. During the 7-1 win over USC-Beaufort, she tacked on one assist, helping teammate Ariela Lewis score the third goal for ASU before the break
