The University of Maryland women's soccer team continued its solid spring season Friday afternoon with a 2-1 home win over regional foe George Mason.

Rising senior Danielle Hubka and rising junior Hayley Brock scored for the Terps, with both goals coming in the first half of play. The Patriots cut the lead to a goal in the second half, but the Maryland defense held strong for the victory.

"I thought our team was very focused going into the match and the performance in the first half was quite good," said Maryland head coach Jonathan Morgan. "Our communication was energetic and therefore our organization defensively was of a good quality. We moved well off the ball in the first half and therefore we were able to have good possession and score two terrific goals. Unfortunately, Mason outmatched our energy in the second half and made a real game of it. We were on our heels for a good portion of the second half. Hopefully, against Penn next Friday we will be able to have a much more consistent performance."

The Terps continue their spring slate with a 7 p.m. match with Penn on Friday, April 13 in College Park.
