Midseason Top 100 rankings update released
The Midseason Top 100 Players to Watch rankings have been released, looking at the top talent in women's Division I soccer.
Factoring both the spring and fall seasons, the list removes any players that have turned professional since the start of the season and are now longer competing in college soccer.
Minimal changes are at the top. Florida State's Jaelin Howell sits at the summit, as the Seminoles have eschewed any competitive games durign the spring, opting to contest exhibitions against local college sides or NWSL teams in preseason.
Sam Coffey (Penn State), Brianna Pinto (North Carolina) and Mikayla Colohan (BYU) are making the strongest case for the top spot and National Player of the Year honors. That trio has been on fire in the spring for their respective programs and will get a chance in the postseason to test themselves when tournament time comes.
The final rankings and postseason awards will be released after a Division I champion is crowned in May.
