Raleigh, N.C. - The NC State men's soccer team opened its 2011 campaign with a 0-0 tie against St. Francis (Pa.) at the Dail Soccer Stadium Friday night. After a 75 minute lightning delay, neither the Wolfpack (0-0-1) nor the Red Flash (0-0-1) found the back of the net.

The Pack appeared to notch a goal right before halftime, but sophomore Nader Jaibat's header into the back of the net came just a couple of seconds after the halftime buzzer sounded. NC State also came close in the 38th minute, when transfer Danny DiPrima's shot was saved be Red Flash keeper Thomas McWilliams.

NC State's offense picked up in the second half, as the Pack totaled six shots, with four on goal. Redshirt-freshman Nazmi Albadawi had a clear shot at goal in the 53rd minute, but substitute keeper Darius Motazed made the tough save.

Scoring chances were slim in the two overtime periods, and the game ended in a scoreless draw after 110 minutes of actions.

NC State's Fabian Otte made his first career start in goal, and recorded one save for the shutout.
