No. 4 Orediggers Rebound 2-0 Friday At Fort Lewis
DURANGO – Freshman Brooke Stoermer and senior Kenzie King combined for two goals within a span of 5:08 late in the first half and NSCAA No. 4 Colorado School of Mines women's soccer rebounded from its first conference setback in 34 games with a 2-0 shutout of Fort Lewis Friday afternoon in Durango.

Stoermer buried a header at 39:27 off a corner attempt by classmate Emily Garnier and King followed with a straight-on, 10-yard look with 25 seconds to play in the frame.

The scores were the second of the season for the duo.

Mines (11-1-2, 8-1-1 RMAC) outshot the Skyhawks (4-4-5, 3-2-4 RMAC) 11-7 and closed plus-4 in shots on target (6-2), led by sophomore Cari Smith with a game-high two.

Stoermer, King, sophomore Jaclyn Knott and freshman Devon Dunmire each had one off the bench.

Junior Jayln Yates (11-1-2) added her conference-leading 10th shutout in goal with two saves in the 90:00 minutes. The reigning RMAC Goalkeeper of the Year is tied for 17th in the national record book and three shy of tying the all-time conference mark with 33 career shutouts.

The Orediggers are home three of their final four regular season matches, beginning at 6 p.m. next Friday, Oct. 24 against Colorado State-Pueblo.
