Players to Watch: Men's Top 100 Freshmen
The race for the top spot in the Top 100 Freshmen list is wide open.
Bertin Jacquesson sits atop the midseason update, based strongly off a standout fall campaign for Pittsburgh.
But there are plenty of contenders out there, and it will be decided down the stretch. Garrison Tubbs was excellent as a fill-in for Wake Forest in the fall, though he's battled injuries in the spring. Peter Stroud is one of the top freshman midfielders in the ACC, and one of several talented first-year players at Duke.
Laurence Wootton is one of several internationals to dot the list, and he's proven to be quality at Ohio State. Keep an eye on Chris Hegardt. The Georgetown midfielder and Seattle Sounders Academy product is likely to start now with Jacob Montes leaving school.
