Quick Strike Offense Lifts BGSU to 3-1 Win
The Bowling Green State University men's soccer team scored three times in a span of just over four minutes midway through the first half, seizing control of the match en route to a 3-1 win over SIUE Friday night (Aug. 28). The match, the regular-season opener for both teams, was held at Cochrane Stadium.
The Falcons got goals from senior Ryan James and juniors Pat Flynn and Joe Sullivan, turning a scoreless match into a three-goal lead in a span of just 4:13. In fact, after James scored, BG looked to have taken a two-goal lead on a Flynn header, but the goal was disallowed. But, the Hermann Trophy Watch List member came right back to score just moments later, then pounced on an errant pass to start the Sullivan scoring play.
