LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Senior captain Taylor Booth stopped a first half breakaway and made six saves in total as Siena Women’s Soccer settled for a scoreless tie with Hartford at Siena Field. Booth becomes the fifth player in program history to post 10 career shutouts following her first clean sheet of the season.  

Hartford (2-1-2) out-shot Siena (1-4-1) 15-7 and attempted all three corners in the match. Both teams had their best chances to score midway through the first half.

In the 21^st minute, the Hawks’ Emma Donnelly played a long, bouncing ball through to Sidney Spremullo who broke free behind the Siena defense. But Booth came off her line to suppress the chance.

Six minutes later, Tara Sobierajski lined up a free kick from straight on just a few feet outside the box. She blasted a shot that curved around the wall, but Hartford’s Alison Koerkenmeier made a diving save to preserve the shutout. Koerkenmeier made four saves overall to post her fourth shutout in Hartford’s first five matches which all have come on the road.

Both sides had chances in the extra sessions, with Hartford attempting five shots over the ensuing 20 minutes to the Saints’ four, but both keepers made two additional saves apiece.

The 0-0 draw was the Saints’ first since Oct. 16, 2011 at Rider.

The Saints return to action Friday when they host LIU Brooklyn at 4 p.m.
