(Fullerton, CA) – San Francisco women’s soccer (4-1-2) earned its second consecutive double-overtime tie, playing Cal State Fullerton (1-4-1) to a 1-1 score on Sunday afternoon.

Sophomore midfielder Keonna Robinson scored her first collegiate goal in the contest, putting the Dons up 1-0 in the first half. At 45:53, after a deflection from a Fullerton defender, Robinson shot it through. Freshman forward Megan Connor was credited with her first career assist on the play.

Early in the second half, at 51:25, the Titans tied it at 1-1 when Danielle Bitonti scored on a cross by Geminesse Martinez.

USF nearly took the win in the first overtime when senior defender Ashley O’Brien’s free kick from just inside midfield was passed on by senior midfielder Kristina Hall and headed on to the back post by Robinson. That’s where sophomore forward Megan Bucci was waiting and sent the shot into the upper netting before the flag went up on the far side, disallowing the goal.

Fullerton held the advantage in both shots (eight to five) and corner kicks (six to four). Dons senior goalkeeper Kelly Pohle played all 110:00 minutes in goal, recording two saves. Titans goalie Shannon Simpson earned one save in 110:00 minutes.

Along with Robinson and Connor, freshman midfielder Aly Drake (2) and sophomore forward Molly Hall (1) added shots.

“It was another solid result for us,” said head coach Mark Carr. “It was a great fight and we’re so happy for Keonna and her first collegiate goal.”

USF returns to Negoesco next Friday, September 18 for a 5:00 PM kick off against UNLV.
