Shauni Kerkhoff Named Goalkeeper of the Week
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Temple women's soccer player Shauni Kerkhoff was named the American Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week after her performance in a 3-0 win at Rider last Friday and a 3-2 win at Drexel Sunday. This is the second week in a row that Shauni received this award.
Kerkhoff recorded her third shutout of the season against Rider to help Temple stay unbeaten at 4-0. She recorded five saves in the win. Shauni went on to compile 8 saves in a 3-2 victory over rival Drexel on Sunday. Temple now sits unbeaten at 5-0 for the best start in program history.
Kerkhoff for the season currently holds an outstanding .923 save percentage with 24 saves. She also adds three shutouts and a .041 goals against average to her resume.
The Owls return to action on Friday for the Cornell Classic (Ithaca, N.Y.). The Owls face St. Bonaventure on Friday at 4:00 p.m. Temple returns on Sunday to face the host Cornell at 3:00 p.m.
