St. Cloud State aces Bemidji State, 1-0
Bemidji, Minn. - The St. Cloud State University soccer team (6-11-1, 5-9-1 NSIC) finished its 2014 regular season schedule with a 1-0 victory at Bemidji State University (9-8-1, 8-6-1 NSIC) on Sunday, Nov. 2.
Michelle Cornell charted the game winner for the Huskies with a first half goal at 38:56. The solo assist on the goal was provided by Gabby Fleck on the play. The goal was Cornell's first of the season and it was Fleck's fourth assist of the year.
In the game, BSU outshot the Huskies 17-12 but senior goalkeeper Kenzie Hanzlik proved unbeatable in the nets with six saves and the shutout. The victory helped Hanzlik set a new SCSU team record for career shutouts with 17, which moves her ahead of Elizabeth Kelly's 16 from 2006-09. Hanzlik also ends here career at SCSU with 26 career victories, which also ties here for the team record along with
