A day after receiving the TDS Women’s College Soccer Player of the Year award, Jasmine Aikey proved why by scoring a sensational free kick to send Stanford past Duke and to a second College Cup final in three years.

The magical moment came just ten minutes into the match as the senior curled her attempt up and over the wall into the back of the net. From that point, Duke battled well to find an equalizer, even forcing Caroline Birkel to make a few stellar saves in the Cardinal goal.

But while the first half was mostly even with the team attempting six shots each, the second half was all Stanford. If not for a few goal-line clearances, the frame of the goal, and some last-ditch tackling, the ACC champions would have added more as they flexed a 17-5 shooting advantage in the second half.
With a 1-0 result, the stage is set for a rematch of the 2023 final, where Florida State defeated Stanford for the title.
