TDS Men's Division I Top 25: Sept. 7
There is a new No. 1 in the TopDrawerSoccer Men’s Top 25. After a wild weekend of college soccer, there was quite a bit of change in the TDS rankings. Check out which teams made moves below.
Creighton takes over the top spot in the TopDrawerSoccer Men’s Division I Top 25 following a pair of wins over the weekend. The Jays usurp both Virginia and UCLA on the way to the top. Creighton defeated Cal State Northridge(m) and UC Irvine at home over the holiday weekend to move from No. 3 to No. 1.
Virginia slips to No. 2 after a draw against Tulsa on Friday night. The Cavaliers, the defending national champions, returns to action this week with a game against George Mason on Tuesday.
Maryland jumps to No. 3 following an overtime win UCLA on Friday in front of a rowdy crowd. The young Terps are already flying high with the confidence from a win over the 2014 national finalist. Maryland takes on Akron on Monday.
Notre Dame slots in at No. 4 after convincing wins over UAB and South Florida over the weekend. The Irish have gone four games without letting in a goal this season. Notre Dame has a showdown against Clemson on Friday.
UCLA rounds out the top five. The Bruins took on a daunting challenge with the road game against Maryland early in the season and nearly pulled out a result, but the overtime loss should not hurt too much at the end of the season. UCLA returns to play on Monday against Georgetown.
