TDS Women’s DI Freshman Top 100 released
In need of a replacement for attacking midfielder Dagny Brynjarsdottir, Florida State head coach Mark Krikorian hit the international recruiting trail once again.
Once again, Krikorian’s eye for talent paid off, landing Irish midfielder/forward Megan Connolly, named the No. 1 first-year player in Division I women’s soccer in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Freshman Top 100, revealed this week.
Connolly leads the ACC in assists, setting up nine tallies so far in 2015. The Ireland youth international is more than just production however, as her abilities up front helps the Seminoles control games, maintain possession and foster one of the best attack’s in the country.
There’s a lot of youth national team veterans in the rest of the top 10, from Stanford’s Jordan DiBiasi, Virginia’s Betsy Brandon, Stanford defender Alana Cook, talented Duke forward Taylor Racioppi and Tennessee midfielder Katie Cousins.
