Tulsa Drops 6-1 Decision to #13 UCF
The Tulsa women’s soccer team dropped a 6-1 decision to 13th-ranked UCF on Thursday night at the UCF Soccer and Track Complex in Orlando, Fla. TU fell to 3-8-2 on the season and 1-2 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Knights moved to 6-1-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the league.
Reagan Whitlow registered TU’s lone goal at the 77:51 mark as she drilled in a goal from 35 yards out off a free kick.
Dina Orschmann put UCF on the board at the 34:38 mark as she scored from six yards out off a combination from Madison Murnin and Christine Creighton. Morgan Ferrara added a score in the 49th minute off a penalty kick and then a second goal in the 57th minute off a cross.
Stefanie Sanders recorded the fourth goal for the Knights at the 68:48 mark from seven yards out, while Julia Moore tallied a score in the 78th minute.
UCF had a 39-2 lead in shots, including a 19-1 advantage in shots on goal, and an 8-1 lead in corner kicks.
Whitlow had the Golden Hurricane’s only two shot attempts in the contest. Courtney McKeon logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up 13 saves.
Tulsa will return to action on Sunday, Oct. 1 at USF. Game time is set for 12:00 pm in Tampa, Fla.
