Warhawks Suffer Road Loss to #6 WashU
Nina Yonan (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) made a career-high 11 saves, but the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to #6 Washington University-St. Louis Sunday afternoon in the "W" Challenge hosted by WashU in St. Louis, Mo.
The Warhawks, 5-3 overall, gave up a goal in each half to the undefeated Bears, and were outshot 39-1 in the match.
Sophomore forward Anna Boyd (De Pere, Wis./De Pere)registered the Warhawks' only shot of the match in the 67th minute and it was blocked by a Bear defender.
Yonan made six saves in the first half and five in the second, but the loss moves her to 3-3 this season.
UW-W will return to action on Wednesday when they host Knox College at 6 p.m. at Fiskum Field in Whitewater.
