San Diego Surf forward/midfielder Julie Doyle recently committed to Santa Clara, with a clear emphasis on her choice.
“Soccer was the most important part of my college decision,” she told TopDrawerSoccer. “I intend to play soccer beyond college and I was looking for a coach that would not only challenge me, but also had the vision and the ability to take my game to the next level. Jerry Smith is one of the most respected and accomplished soccer coaches in the country. He's known for playing quality possession soccer, developing elite players and competing for National Championships.”
