HS: Nobles returns to Prep Girls No. 1
The curse of No. 1 is alive and well in the Prep Girls Top 10.
Every week this season, the team ranked No. 1 has lost a match. As the rankings standing, the top six teams have distanced themselves from the pack, but who should be No. 1 among the group is tricky because it's a collection of nontransitive results, i.e. A beats B, B beats C, but C beats A.
For the time being, the strongest case for No. 1 belongs to Noble and Greenough (Mass.), which is back in the top spot. Despite its one loss, Nobles has wins over three of the other five teams in the top six. Also, Nobles is coming off a win over last week's No. 2. So, for the time being, Nobles is No. 1 -- but then, there's always next week.
On the boys side, there was no change at the top as Berkshire School (Mass.) remains perfect.
