HS: Spring SIMA FAB 50, June 7
TOP STORY LINES: New Trier (Winnetka, Ill.) and St. Teresa's Academy (Kansas City, Mo.) started the season ranked 1-2 in the SIMA FAB 50, fell from those lofty perches during the season but returned in a big way with state title victories over the weekend. Both teams scored four goals in state final victories, marking a third straight title for New Trier and second straight for St. Teresa's.
BIG MOVERS -- BOYS: West Des Moines Valley (West Des Moines, Iowa). After claiming its first state title in 10 years, Valley leaps from No. 47 to No. 17 this week. GIRLS: St. Teresa's Academy (Kansas City, Mo.). The Stars moved from No. 45 to No. 11 this week after winning a loaded Missouri Class 4 state tournament for the second straight year.
NEWCOMERS: BOYS: No. 33 Yorktown (Arlington, Va.), No. 42 Albemarle (Charlottesville, Va.), No. 45 George Mason (Falls Church, Va.) and No. 50 Mills Godwin (Richmond, Va.). GIRLS: No. 22 Glenbard East (Lombard, Ill.), No. 29 Brookfield Central (Brookfield, Wis.), No. 30 Notre Dame de Sion (Kansas City, Mo.), No. 36 Huntley (Ill.).
