HS: State, Region rankings, Sept. 12
Here's a mind-blowing stat: last week's SIMA FAB 50 boys and girls Top 25 teams combined to go 72-3-7 in matches against non-FAB 50 opponents.
Such dominace leaves almost no movement at the top of the regional rankings this week. In fact, only one of the 14 regions changed No. 1 teams -- the Mid-East boys, where Morton (Ill.) and Evanston (Ill.) flipped No. 1 and No. 2 rankings this week.
On the boys side, last week's SIMA FAB 50 Top 25 teams went 38-2-6 against teams outside the SIMA FAB 50. Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Virginia and West Virginia all saw changes at No. 1 on the state level.
Last week's SIMA FAB 50 Top 25 girls combined to go 34-1-1 in matches against teams outside the FAB 50. The only new state No. 1s are in Kentucky, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and West Virginia -- all states where last week's No. 2 takes over at No. 1.
