HS: Weekend wrap, region rankings
Vestavia Hills (Ala.) and Oak Mountain (Ala.) girls have been Nos. 1-2 all season in the TopDrawerSoccer state rankings, and the two met last week in what was expected to be a close contest.
Instead, Vestavia Hills rolled up a 6-3 win, powered by a pair of goals from Caroline Causey.
The result put Vestavia Hills at 13-0 on the season and improved the team's national standing while Oak Mountain fell to 13-1.
Around the country last week, Texas teams completed regular season play with very little change to the state and regional rankings. The spring states were split between being on break and playing. The only new state No. 1s this week are Eureka (Mo.), Lambert (Ga.), Laramie (Wyo.) and Leesville Road (N.C.) in spring girls soccer and Clover (S.C.) and Laramie (Wyo.) in spring boys soccer.
