The winter high school soccer season starts this week in most California sections, which means results will start to reshape future SIMA FAB 50 rankings.

But for the time being, there was almost no change from last week's rankings.

Montverde Academy (Fla.) boys and JSerra (Calif.) girls remain the top-ranked teams.

The boys Top 20 is unchanged from last week while all 50 girls teams held their positions.

Now, on with the rest of the rankings ... 

BIG MOVERS: BOYS: [Birmingham ca-m] (Van Nuys, Calif.). Birmingham edges three spots higher -- from No. 50 to No. 47 -- without playing. The defending CIF-LA champs advanced as others previously ahead of them lost or were repositioned in the rankings. ... GIRLS: None. All 50 teams from last week remained in the same position this week.

NEWCOMERS: BOYS: No. 48 [Spanish River fl-m] (Boca Raton, Fla.) and No. 50 [Edison ca-m] (Huntington Beach, Calif.). ... GIRLS: None.
