The return of last fall's U.S. U20 Women's World Cup team is significant in this year's Preseason Best XI for women's Division I soccer.

With some of the best players in the country sitting out the 2016 campaign, the injection of high level talent will have a huge impact on the upcoming season.

That being said, the holdovers from last year's season dot the three preseason teams. That includes Andi Sullivan, the likely No. 1 pick in the 2018 NWSL Draft, South Carolina star Savannah McKaskill, and Georgetown's Rachel Corboz, who helped the Hoyas to a College Cup appearance last year.

Also included in the preseason awards is the Freshman Best XI, a look at some first-year players expected to make a significant contribution in 2017.
