For many, the coming summer break will offer a nice reprieve from schoolwork and a chance to relax and have some fun. But for athletes of team sports like soccer, the summer presents the challenge of maintaining training away from your teammates. For this reason, many players attend training camps over the course of the summer, such as the ones offered by the New York Red Bulls.

This summer, in theNew York and New Jersey areas, the New York Red Bulls will be hosting summer training camps for soccer players ages 3-18.

Summer camps are a great experience for young athletes. They offer an opportunity to have fun and make friends while training and working to improve. Those who attend will have the opportunity to live with roommates and play with a group of peers. The Red Bull campers will be grouped based on age and skill level, and each group will spend the majority of the camp time together, allowing players to bond and make lasting connections.

However, the camps offered by the New York Red Bulls will not be all fun and games. Players come to learn and improve their game, and these training camps will enable the athletes to grow and develop as they learn and train.

What makes the New York Red Bull soccer camps unique is that they are the only camps throughout New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania that are directly operated by a professional soccer team. These camp programs offer a unique level of quality, having been specifically designed by professional soccer experts to meet the needs of youth soccer players of all ages and abilities. Players will be taught by a professional coaching staff that utilizes a curriculum designed to ensure that all activities are both fun and challenging. For players with outstanding ability, there is even an opportunity to progress to the academy level and ultimately, to the Red Bulls First Team.

One significant aspect of the Red Bulls’ camp training program is the use of “Skills Challenges.” These challenges are conducted during the camp sessions in order to help motivate players to practice and to help players “gauge their own areas of strength and improvement.” They will help players develop both mentally and physically, improving overall performance. The challenges are based on the daily training topics and more information can be found on the Skills Challenges page of the Red Bulls website: http://www.redbullsacademy.com/redbullsacademy.com/training/skillschallenge.aspx

In addition to training and being assessed by professional coaches, the Red Bulls soccer camps offer a unique program called the Match Day Experience, which provides an excellent opportunity to come and watch the Red Bulls play. Since these training camps are affiliated with a professional team (the New York Red Bulls), the camps offer players in attendance a companion ticket for Red Bull home games through the Match Day Experience. The Red Bull program states that “watching live soccer is an important part of a young player’s overall development. The Red Bulls training staff encourages players to watch professional players and learn from their role models.” Here is a link to the Match Day Experience information page on the Red Bulls camp website: http://www.redbullsacademy.com/training/experiences/spring.aspx

As mentioned earlier, the New York Red Bulls will be hosting soccer training camps this coming summer for players ages 3 -18. The camps will run from June through August and will be held in the New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania areas. The Red Bulls will be offering several different types of camps based on age, experience, and camp duration. The age breakdown of the Red Bull camps is below:

First KICK: 3-4 year olds
Mini KICK: 5-6 year olds
Skills Camps: 7-14 year olds
Team Camps: Teams 8 to 18 years old
Residential Camps: 9-16 years old

Players who attend the camps will receive a New York Red Bulls Adidas soccer ball, a New York Red Bulls Adidas t-shirt, a certificate of achievement, and a companion ticket to a New York Red Bulls match at the Red Bull Arena.
