BLACK DIVISION

In the 17U Black Division, FC Florida 2001 Elite Blue Predators (FL) and 1776 United FC 01 Xtreme (PA-E) did all they could in Bradenton, Fla., to gain a lead in the standings. Following the January weekend of play, FC Florida came away with 15 points and has a current hold on the top spot in the division. However, Premier Navy 2001 (MD) is right there with them at 12 points heading into the weekend in Las Vegas, as the Maryland side has yet to drop points in any game this season. Rebels 2001 Elite (CA-S) can also determine its faith with its 3-1-0 record as the team sits closely behind Premier Navy.

Also competing in Las Vegas in the Black Division is Santa Clara Sporting 01 Green (CA-N), who has accumulated a 2-2-0 record. In addition, Tennessee Soccer Club 2001 Showcase (TN) will look to bounce back from a rocky time in Wilson, N.C.

The two teams within reach of the division title face off on the first day of the weekend in Las Vegas, so the game could set the tone for each of their remaining two games. While Premier Navy does have a three-point advantage on Rebels, the Cal South side does know how to convert goals, considering it has scored 15 goals and only allowed three. Meanwhile, Premier Navy is not far behind with its 10 goals scored and two allowed.

BLUE DIVISION

Century V 01 Gold (PA-W) put itself in perfect position to claim the 17U Blue Division title after achieving four wins in Wilson, N.C. The Pennsylvania West side sits in second place behind FCKC Academy Blues Elite (MO), which has six wins and only one loss under its belt. While Century has good odds of catching FCKC, the work won’t be easy. Century will have to face Arizona Arsenal Teal (AZ) and Sting East Dunstan (TX-N), both of whom have the same records of 2-1-1.

Joining these teams in Las Vegas is Fullerton Rangers 01 White (CA-S), which has been in every game it has played and certainly has the ability to impact the standings with a successful weekend in Las Vegas.

As Century currently sits in second place in the standings, and Arizona Arsenal is in fourth, this match-up on the second day of the Las Vegas weekend could make a huge difference. Century does have a leg up with its 12 points as opposed to Arizona Arsenal’s seven, yet Arizona Arsenal has put more goals away (14 to Century’s 10).

RED DIVISION

With its five wins and two ties, BC United 01 (NY-W) claimed the 17U Red Division title in Bradenton, Fla., so the possibility of a berth to the National Championships is off the line for the teams competing in Las Vegas. However, the remaining four teams will strive to play their way back into the National League for the 2018-19 season. CDA Premier 01 (OH-S) and PacNW 01 Maroon (WA) both have 2-1-1 records and have equal chances to earn a second-place spot in the division. Cleveland FC 01 Royal (OH-N) and Beach FC 01 (CA-S) will also compete in Las Vegas.

The two teams will face each other for their second game in Las Vegas. With similar records, the only difference on paper involves goal differential as CDA has tallied seven goals and allowed two, while PacNW has scored five and allowed five. The result of this one could determine which team is able to climb highest in the standings.

WHITE DIVISION

The Las Vegas weekend will feature a tight race for the 17U White Division, as all four competing teams mathematically have a chance to take the title. While FC Frederick 01 (MD) compiled 11 total points for the season and holds the first place spot, TFA Elite 01 (OH-S), Legends FC 01 Academy II (CA-S) and Lonestar 01 TCL Composite (TX-S) all sit near the top of the standings within three points of each other. TFA did well in Wilson, N.C., to earn a 3-0-1 record, while Legends FC and Lonestar have nine and eight points, respectively. Celtic FC Premier SA (UT) is also in the running for first place and could possibly claim the division with three wins. Overall, anything could happen in Las Vegas within this division.

While any of the games in the White Division could be a good match-up, the battle between TFA Elite and Legends FC on the first day of Las Vegas could be an indicator of what is to come for the remaining two games. Of the teams competing in this final National League weekend, these two sides have the highest number of points. As TFA has scored 13 goals — the most in the division — the team will need to continue the offensive drive, while also maintaining a sturdy defensive line just as it did in Wilson, N.C., allowing only one goal. Legends FC has only dropped one game this season and has kept all of its games within one or two goals, so this matchup could be a close one.
