US Youth Soccer National League P.R.O. hosted its second 14U Boys and Girls event of the season, as the teams competed Jan. 7-10 at the ChampionsGate Sports Complex in Florida.

Each team in the 14U age group has now played its two P.R.O. events, and only a handful of seventh games remain to complete their seasons. Top-finishing National League P.R.O. teams (12 per gender age group) earn direct advancement to the USYS National Championships, and the results at ChampionsGate saw nine girls teams and six boys teams punch their tickets to Nationals.

A brief look at where the 14U Girls teams stand after the games at ChampionsGate…

Note: The top three teams in each 14U Girls group advance to the 2022 National Championships.

Group A – Dallas Texans 08G (TX-N) earned a 3-0 win on Sunday to clinch a Top 3 finish in the group, while Michigan Tigers 2008 Girls Gold (MI) also punched its ticket to Nationals thanks to a scoreless draw. NJ Premier G2008 (NJ) and Lady Hammers (NY-E) will compete for the group’s final spot to Nationals when they play each other in their seventh game, while the group title will also be decided by seventh game results.

Group B – A late goal helped Galaxy 2008 Girls Blue (IL) to a 2-1 win on Sunday, which allowed it to secure the top spot in the group with 19 points. Solar South 08G FDL Adames (TX-N) also won a tight match, 1-0, to finish just behind Galaxy in the standings. And a 3-0 victory allowed KC Fusion Academy 08 (KS) to finish with a 5-1-1 record and in third place.

Group C – Team Boca SABR 08 Girls White (FL) moved to 6-0-0 — having yet to concede a goal — and wrapped up first place in the group. TFA G08 Elite (OH), United PDX 2008G Premier Black (OR) and CUP 08 Gold (OH) are each still alive for the remaining two berths to Nationals, which will be sorted out when TFA and CUP face off in their seventh game.

Group D – New England Surf State Navy (MA) finished a 7-0-0 season with a 3-0 win on Sunday. Elsewhere in the group, GTFC Impact Girls 08 Premier (OH) clinched a spot at Nationals with a dramatic last-minute goal that gave it a 3-2 win in a back-and-forth game against BFC 2008 Girls Premier (MS). The group’s third ticket to Nationals goes to Germantown Lady Legends 08 Black (TN) after the Tennessee side secured a decisive win to close out its P.R.O. season.

A brief look at where the 14U Boys teams stand after the games at ChampionsGate…

Note: The top two teams in each 14U Boys group, plus the next two highest overall finishers, advance to the 2022 National Championships.

Group A – Potomac Blue 08B (MD) scored a last-minute winner on Monday to defeat previous group leader PSA National 08 Boys (NJ), 2-1, and move to the top of the standings. PSA remains in second — level on 13 points with Potomac — while Juventus Pogba (FL) and Ironbound SC 08 United (NJ) are each just one point back. All teams have their seventh games remaining to decide who advances to Nationals.

Group B – Las Vegas Diversity FC 08 NL (NV) finished an undefeated season with a 2-0 win on Monday to clinch the top spot in the group. The battle for second place was extremely tight, as La Roca KP 08 (UT)’s one-goal advantage on the season allowed it to break a three-way tie and clinch its spot at the National Championships.

Group C – YMS 2008 Boys Celtic NL (PA-E) became the first team to score on Chicago Magic 2008 MCL (IL), as the Eastern PA team won, 1-0, and overtook Chicago to win the group title.  Both teams will head to Nationals as the top finishers in the group.

Group D – DSC Elite Boys 2008 (FL) came back to tie Tigres FC 08B Premier (TX-S), 2-2, in a matchup of the top two teams in Group D. The result allowed DSC to remain on top of the group, two points ahead of Tigres. However, the remaining seventh games will decide which teams finish in the top two.

Group E – The top two finishers in Group B both found themselves trailing in the second half on Monday — showing the competitive level of the National League P.R.O. Nationals Union 08 Boys Black (MI) came back to win, 2-1, to clinch the top spot in the group. Elsewhere, DKSC 08B Lopez (TX-N) came back to win, 4-3, in a back-and-forth battle with Torpedoes 08 Red (NJ) — giving the North Texas side the group’s second ticket to the National Championships.

The remaining 14U National League P.R.O. games will be played throughout the next several weeks to complete the standings. The National League P.R.O. event season will continue Feb. 5-7, when half the teams in the 15U-19U Boys and Girls age groups compete in Florida.
