Auburn announces spring schedule

AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn soccer team will play a total of seven matches during its spring exhibition season, including matches against Southeastern Conference foes Tennessee and LSU as well as the Mexican National Team, head coach Karen Hoppa announced on Tuesday.
Team practice began on Monday, Feb. 15, and runs until April 17. The team returns top scorer Katy Frierson (five goals, 10 assists) off of last year’s NCAA squad, which went 10-9-3. Also back is top goalkeeper Amy Howard (1.19 GAA, .818 save percentage) as Auburn returns 15 players from last year’s team.
The spring exhibition schedule begins on Saturday, Feb. 27, as Auburn faces Tennessee (11:30am) and Mercer (5pm) at the Auburn Soccer Complex. On Wednesday, March 10, Auburn will play the Atlanta Beat, also in Auburn, before heading to Orlando, Fla., for matches against the Mexican National Team (April 9) and Central Florida (April 10) on back-to-back nights. The spring schedule concludes on Saturday, April 17 when Auburn faces LSU at 7pm at the Orange Beach Soccer Complex. The team is looking to add one more match before the end of practice.
