TDS Scouting Report: CASL's Brianna Pinto
Brianna Pinto’s call-up to the U23 WNT as the dawn broke on 2017 was notable enough. Pinto, after all, was just 16 years old, making her one of the youngest camp call-ups in USWNT history. It’s worth pointing out that’s younger than Mallory Pugh’s USWNT camp debut, which came at 17.
Pinto’s future is still very much up in the air in terms of how she ultimately takes to the pro game when that day ultimately arrives. She has one more year of club soccer at CASL before she even arrives at the college game’s doorstep, after all. But it’s still impossible to miss the generational talent percolating in Pinto’s engine. The No. 1 player in the class of 2018 is about as exciting a prospect as current exists in the USWNT pipeline.
