Despite missing the opening three games of the 2017 season, Alan Winn has already set a career high in goals scored.

The senior striker’s coming into form at just the right time for North Carolina, as his three-goal haul over the past week led the Tar Heels to wins against George Washington and Virginia.

Men’s Team of the Week (September 18-24)

GK Jimmy Hague, Michigan State – Friday night’s Big Ten action served up an extremely entertaining 0-0 battle between the Spartans and Maryland. The Top 10 tilt finished scoreless thanks in large part to Hague’s seven stops, including a tremendous double save in the second half.

D Donovan Pines, Maryland – On the other end of the field, the sophomore center back Pines logged the full 110 minutes, keeping the Spartans offense silent in a clash where the Terps outshot Michigan State 20-9. The defender made a number of interventions, both aerially and on the ground, the limit the danger in front of Dayne St. Clair.

D Wyatt Omsberg, Dartmouth – One of a handful of impressive senior center backs, Omsberg led the Big Green to a 1-0 shutout win over Massachusetts-Lowell last Wednesday, and got himself on the score sheet in a 5-2 victory against Vermont over the weekend. Dartmouth is rolling ahead of this weekend’s Ivy League opener against Princeton, with five straight wins in a row.

D David Enstrom, St. John's – The Red Storm quietly continue to lay the foundation for a strong Big East season, defeating Xavier by a 3-0 score over the weekend. Enstrom, a transfer from Buffalo, led the back line to a clean sheet, logging 90 minutes in the win.

D Lennart Hein, Saint Louis – After a sputtering start to the season, Saint Louis picked up its biggest win so far, blanking Stanford 2-0 on home turf. The Billiken defender logged the full 90, limiting the Cardinal to just a single shot on target.

M Phillip Goodrum, UNC Wilmington – The sophomore’s first multi-goal game of his career elevated UNCW to a 2-1 come-from-behind victory against William & Mary.

M Francesco Amorosino, VCU – Another team looking to jump-start its campaign, Amorosino grabbed the game-winning goal over the weekend as VCU picked up a significant road win, defeating Coastal Carolina by a 1-0 score.

F David Egbo, Akron – Entering off the bench, Egbo helped spark the Zips to a 5-0 win. The freshman forward scored once and added an assist as Akron enjoyed its best performance from the season so far.

F Derek Dodson, Georgetown – Dodson was another freshman striker to deliver in the clutch. Last week, he played a part in the buildup to a late equalizer for the Hoyas, they won 3-2 in overtime against Stony Brook. Dodson scored both goals in a 2-1 road win over DePaul, as he continues to come off the bench and make things happen.

F Jay McIntosh, Western Michigan – Involved in both wins for WMU last week, McIntosh setup the winning goal against Michigan on Wednesday, and netted the game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory over UMBC on the road.

F Alan Winn, North Carolina – The Player of the Week is evolving into the much-needed go-to presence in front of goal that the Tar Heels need to compete for a national title.
