UCLA's unbeaten streak and Kyle Nakazawa's scoring streak moved to six games after a 1-1 tie at Washington on Sunday afternoon. Nakazawa scored his team-leading seventh goal in the eighth minute to give UCLA a 1-0 lead, and after giving up an own goal in the second half, the Bruins held on to salvage a tie in front of 1,912 fans at Husky Soccer Field.

Nakazawa has been sensational in the last six games, scoring seven goals with three assists. He has scored or assisted on nine of UCLA's last 10 goals and has a career-best seven goals and 17 points after just eight games this season. His last two goals have been on free kicks, including his goal against the Huskies from 25 yards out at the 7:48 mark.

With Nakazawa's goal, the Bruins took a 1-0 lead into halftime but gave up the equalizer at 49:36 on an own goal. The Huskies took 13 shots in the second half but were unable to get one past Bruin goalkeeper Brian Rowe, who made six saves in the contest.

Both teams had good opportunities to win the game at the end of regulation. Defender Danny Suits made up for his own goal with a line save at 83:20 after Brent Richards got past Rowe and sent a header towards goal. Suits was able to head the ball away just before it crossed the plane of the goal. Rowe stopped a shot by Ryan Moore in the 84th minute and another shot by Richards in the 86th minute. Nakazawa had a good look at goal in the 86th minute before Washington goalkeeper Rylan Hawkins made a kick save.

Moore had two excellent scoring opportunities in overtime. In the first overtime period, he had a close-range shot right in front of the goal but missed high, and in the second overtime, his header hit the crossbar. Chandler Hoffman had UCLA's best shot in overtime, with Hawkins needing to make a big save at the end of the first overtime.

UCLA's record moves to 6-1-1, 1-0-1 in Conference. Washington is now 3-4-3, 0-0-2 in the Pac-10.
