West Virginia - UConn men's match postponed

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (October 9, 2009) – Due to inclement weather late Friday evening, the West Virginia University men’s soccer game against Connecticut has been rescheduled from Friday to Saturday, Oct. 10. Kickoff between the 25th-ranked Mountaineers and the 13th-ranked Huskies is set for 4 p.m. at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
Admission is free to the public.
In the last meeting between the two programs, sophomore Alex Silva tallied the game-winning goal in front of 4,407 fans to give WVU the upset victory at then-No. 7-ranked UConn, 1-0, last year on Oct. 3.
WVU enters the contest with a five-match unbeaten streak and holds a 5-2-3 overall mark, including a 4-1-1 record in the BIG EAST.
Connecticut has won its last four contests and owns a 6-2-2 overall mark, 5-1-0 in league action.
Admission is free to the public.
