North Carolina moves to #1; Lenczyk named POTW

North Carolina has moved to the top spot of the TopDrawerSoccer.com Women’s Tournament 64 National Ranking following it’s impressive 3-0 win over Texas A&M(w) in the season’s opening weekend.
The Tar Heels move to #1 ahead of Stanford, which played #5 Boston College to a 1-1 draw and then defeated Boston University 2-1. The Cardinal are now listed #2 with UCLA, Notre Dame and Boston College following.
The ranking is a running effort to project the 64-team NCAA Tournament field, including all automatic conference and at-large bids to the field. It is updated every Monday through the season. See it here.
Meanwhile Virginia’s Meghan Lenczyk has been named TopDrawerSoccer.com Player of the Week following her role in the Cavaliers’ weekend wins over Liberty and Colgate.
