FAB 50 High School Soccer Team Rankings

The fall season includes the following states: Colorado, Connecticut, D.C., Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia (private), West Virginia, Wisconsin.

The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

St. Ignatius Cleveland, OH 8-0-1
Xavier commit Stephen Milhoan scored twice in the team's 3-0 victory over Olentangy Liberty. The Wildcats have wins over three teams that have been ranked in the Ohio state Top 10, and now the powerhouse starts its out-of-state run. This week, St. Ignatius takes on SLUH (Mo.), which is coming off a CYC Tournament title, and next week the Wildcats travel to Colorado to take on undefeated and SIMA FAB 50-ranked Cherry Creek and one-loss Regis Jesuit, which was handed a 2-1 setback by Milwaukee Marquette (Wis.) last week.

As expected, John Murphy has been clutch for Scotch Plains. Last week the junior scored twice against Johnson in a lopsided result and netted both goals in a the team's 2-1 victory over Bridgewater-Raritan.

St. Benedict's Prep Newark, NJ 6-1-0
Felipe Lucas, Luam Lamas and Louis Silva scored the goals as St. Benedict's defeated Blair Academy 3-0 last week in the team's only outing. The Gray Bees have a midweek clash with undefeated Pennington School this week.

Milwaukee Marquette Milwaukee, WI 9-0-1
Marquette traveled to Colorado over the weekend and came away with a pair of 2-1 victories to jump up into the SIMA FAB 50 national title chase. The Hilltoppers handed former SIMA FAB 50 No. 1 Rockhurst (Mo.) its first defeat, then edged undefeated Regis Jesuit (Colo.) to sweep its matches at the Jesuit Classic, hosted this year by Regis Jesuit. This week, Marquette competes in the Gateway City Soccer Classic, where it will face Prep Top 10 No. 1 South Kent School (Conn.).

Mike McCarthy scored the game winner as Conestoga edged Haverford School 1-0 in overtime last week, capping a three-win week.

Cicero Morton Cicero, IL 12-0-1
Junior standout Baltazar Duran scored in the 77th minute to lead Morton to a 2-1 come-from-behind win over St. Charles North in the top flight of the Pepsi Showdown.

Rockhurst Jesuit Kansas City, MO 12-1-0
Rockhurst lost to Milwaukee Marquette (Wis.) 2-1 before defeating Gonzaga (D.C.) at the Jesuit Classic in Colorado. The Hawklets travel to St. Louis this week to take part in the 62-team Gateway City Soccer Classic.

After celebrating coach Terry Hair's 25th year at the helm, Olathe East then handed Shawnee Mission West a 3-1 defeat last week.

Blaise Werner scored seven goals and had one assist last week as Boulder posted three victories. The Panthers face former SIMA FAB 50-ranked Fairview this week.

Bucknell commit Matthew Thorsheim had a goal and three assists as CBA swept its matches at the Delbarton Invitational with three-goal wins over DeMatha (Md.) and SIMA FAB 50-ranked Chaminade (N.Y.).

Brian Tevlin scored twice in Seton Hall Prep's 3-0 win over Bloomfield and Indiana commit Mason Toye had a goal and one assist in the team's 2-0 victory over Livingston last week.

Junior Gavin Ford had a goal and one assists as Salesianum defeated Charter School 2-0 last week in a state No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown. Sallies has a clash with DeMatha Catholic (Md.) this Saturday, and faces St. Benedict's (N.J.) the following Saturday.

Timmy Townsend scored at least one goal in each of the team's four victories last week and finished with five goals and one assist.

Pedro Dolabella provided Pennington's offensive highlight last week, scoring three goals in a 4-1 victory over the Hun School. This week, Pennington clashes with St. Benedict's Prep in a match with significant state, region and national ranking consequences.

Hersey recorded a key league victory over Conant, 4-3 last week to etch its place among the state's best teams so far this season. The Huskies figure to get tested this week with a match against Barrington.

Arthur Gibert scored twice as Ladue defeated Timberland 3-0 to win its division at the 62nd annual CYC/Bob Guelker tournament. Hans Chan served up a school record 14th assist this season during the match.

Brentwood won three matches last week, powered offensively by Jorge Hernandez (three goals, two assists), Roberto Ventura (two goals, three assists) and Francisco Gallego (two goals, two assists). Brentwood faces Sachem North this week with a chance to avenge the lone blemish on the team's record.

McMinnville has outscored its opponents 29-1 in six matches this season. The team also picked up a forfeit victory.

Medina has won 10 straight matches since a season-opening tie. Justin Libertowski scored twice in the team's most recent outing, a 3-0 win over Solon.

Edwardsville kicked off the week with a scoreless draw against DeSmet (Mo.), but shutout wins over Rock Bridge (Mo.) and Normal Community helped the Tigers claw a few spots higher in this week's SIMA FAB 50.

St. Charles East clashes with St. Charles North on Tuesday, and North is coming off a runner-up finish to Morton in the top flight of the Pepsi Showdown.
