The boys fall high school season includes the following states: Colorado, Connecticut, D.C., Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia (private), West Virginia, Wisconsin.

The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Season Complete. New Jersey Prep A state champion.
School Facts: Private, all-boys, 550 students, grades K-12.
NOTES: Ronald Mafunzwaini, a junior, scored his team-leading 19th goal that started St. Benedict's Prep to a 4-0 win over Blair Academy in the Prep A final, the Gray Bees' 28th state title in the past 29 seasons. Sophomore Julian Gomes scored twice in the final and junior Azriel Johnson netted the last goal. Mafunzwaini scored three times in a 5-0 state semifinal win over Peddie earlier in the week. The Gray Bees defeated state-ranked teams from six states. St. Benedict's is 149-8-3 in eight seasons under coach Jimmy Wandling. The Gray Bees outscored their opponents 95-8 with Mafunzwaini, Celio Pompeu and North Carolina commit Sebastian Chalbaud combining for 42 goals and 30 assists. St. Benedict's started only five seniors, making them an early preseason favorite in 2018.
2 (2) Whitefish Bay Whitefish Bay, WI 25-0-0*
Season Complete. Wisconsin Division 2 state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,005 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Matthew Comiskey scored 30 seconds into the match and the rout was on as Whitefish Bay handled Oregon 6-0 for its third straight state title. Comiskey scored again in the seventh minute, followed by goals from Jimmy Zebel, Mario Carini and Drew Nelson as the Blue Dukes were up 5-0 within 37 minutes. Whitefish Bay has won 31 straight matches, and this year beat perennial national power and FAB 50-ranked Milwaukee Marquette 3-0. Senior goalkeeper Elian Haddock has committed to Yale. Defender Shawn Azcueta and midfielder Jackson Dryden have committed to Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Comiskey was named the state's player of the year by the coaches association.
3 (3) Conestoga Berwyn, PA 25-0-1*
Season Complete. Pennsylvania Class AAAA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,050 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Drexel commit Chris Donovan scored all four goals as Conestoga rolled to a second straight Class AAAA state title with a 4-0 win over Hempfield. The result secured a second straight FAB 50 Top 5 finish for Conestoga, a rarity among public high schools. The Pioneers went 50-1-1 over the past two years and 71-3-3 over the past three years. Donovan ended the season with 56 goals. Keeper Luke Smith recorded his 13th shutout of the season.
4 (4) Martin Luther King Manhattan, NY 18-0-0*
Season Complete. New York PSAL champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,500 students in six schools in the MLK Educational Complex, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Aly Camara scored three goals and Akeem Shelton added the fourth as MLK handled Beacon 4-0 in the PSAL final to claim its 17th PSAL title in the last 21 years. The team's stellar defense was led by St. John's commit Sanoussi Sangary. Other standouts include national recruit Yaya Bakayoko and Eric Affi.
5 (5) Delbarton School Morristown, NJ 21-0-1*
Season Complete. New Jersey Prep A state champion.
School Facts: Private, all-boys, 600 students, grades 7-12.
NOTES: Sophomore Brendan McSorley scored twice, older brother Liam McSorley, a senior, and Ethan Fabricant added goals as Delbarton capped an undefeated season with a 4-1 win over Christian Brothers in the Non-Public A final. In the semifinals, Brendan McSorley also scored twice as Delbarton handled Seton Hall Prep 4-0. Delbarton has won five of the past six Non-Pubic A state titles.
6 (6) Naperville North Naperville, IL 27-1-1*
Season Complete. Illinois Class AAA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,740 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Jack Barry's school record 22nd assist set up Colin Iverson for the match-winning goal as Naperville North repeated as state champion with a 1-0 win over Libertyville. The goal was the 15th for Iverson, which tied him for the team lead with Ian Guppy. Six-foot-seven keeper Tommy Welch, a junior, was named the MVP of the final by Chicagolandsoccer.com, following a 13-save effort. Naperville North becomes the first repeat large school state champion in Illinois since the Sandburg dynasty of 2001 and 2002.
7 (7) Libertyville Libertyville, IL 20-1-2*
Season Complete. Illinois Class AAA state runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 1,950 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Libertyville's undefeated run ended with a 1-0 state final loss to Naperville North in a meeting of the past two Illinois large school state title winners. Libertyville won the crown in 2015. Naperville North has now gone back-to-back in 2016 and 2017. Indiana commit Ryan Wittenbrink scored 39 goals and had 17 assists, giving him 68 goals and 42 assists for a three-year varsity career in 65 matches.
8 (8) Columbus St. Francis de Sales Columbus, OH 22-0-1*
Season Complete. Ohio Division II state champion.
School Facts: Private, 840 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Nick Fuchs scored twice and Division II State Player of the Year Hector Gomez came back from injury with three assists as St. Francis de Sales handled Bay 4-0 in the state final. Gomez missed one playoff match and played only two minutes in the state semifinal contest. Cristian Gomez, Hector's younger brother, and Michael Cockerell scored the other goals.

Wayzata Minneapolis, MN 20-0-2*
Season Complete. Minnesota Class AA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 3,400 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Sophomore Patrick Weah scored the first goal and Ethan Wagner sealed the outcome with a 79th minute score as Wayzata defeated defending state champion Stillwater 2-0 in the state final. Last year, Stillwater defeated Wayzata 2-0 to clinch an undefeated season. This year, the difference was Wayzata keeper Daniel Welshons, who made several crucial saves while the match was on the line.

Beavercreek Beavercreek, OH 22-0-2*
Season Complete. Ohio Division I state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,325 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Senior Ryan Bernt, a first-team all-state performer, scored in the second overtime session to lift Beavercreek to a 1-0 state final win over Medina. The title marked the first for Beavercreek in the 41-year history of Ohio soccer championships. The game-winning goal was assisted by senior Dominic Calabrese.

Cardinal Gibbons Raleigh, NC 23-0-2*
Season Complete. North Carolina Class 4A state champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,250 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Jack Zarnick, who is committed to Utah for lacrosse, netted the first goal and title game MVP Jackson Hollenbach scored the game-winner as Cardinal Gibbons completed an undefeated season with a 2-1 wi over FAB 50-ranked Hough. Hollenbach and defender Adam Trickett were named to the North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association all-state squad. The Crusaders, with 13 seniors, won a sixth boys soccer state title -- but this was the first undefeated team.

Blue Valley Southwest Overland Park, KS 20-0-1*
Season Complete. Kansas Class 5A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,100 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Aidan Bates scored the game-winning goal as Blue Valley Southwest edged Bishop Carroll 1-0 in the state final. BV Southwest had a stellar season, winning the Eastern Kansas League, which features many of the state's top-ranked programs across all three classifications.

Salesianum Wilmington, DE 17-1-0*
Season Complete. Delaware Division 1 state champion.
School Facts: Private, all-male, 1,075 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Bryce Wallace scored both goals as Salesianum edged Appoquinimink 2-1 to capture an eighth straight state title. Wallace's winner came in the 60th minute. Sallies had victories over teams from Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and North Carolina, which included a 4-3, 89th-minute game-winning goal over Top 25-ranked C.M. Wright (Md.). The team's lone setback was a 3-1 loss to top-ranked St. Benedict's (N.J.).

McDonogh School Owings Mills, MD 19-2-0*
Season Complete. MIAA A Conference champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,400 students, grades K-12.
NOTES: Brian Lenzer and Andrew Privett scored late goals as McDonogh School defeated Mount St. Joseph 2-0 in the MIAA A Conference final. The Eagles have won nine titles since the league was formed in 1995. Senior Casey Settleman was the team's top scorer for the season. Other key players included Northwestern commit Jayson Cyrus, Tufts commit Aidan Welsh, junior keeper Kieran Baskett and Privett, a junior, as well.

McQuaid Jesuit Rochester, NY 22-0-0*
Season Complete. New York Class AA state champion.
School Facts: Private, all-boys, 875 students, grades 6-12.
NOTES: Dominic Duncan and Adriano Margiotta each scored twice as McQuaid Jesuit rolled to a 6-0 state final win over Half Hollow Hills West to cap a perfect season. Justin LaFountain and Dan Malloy also scored. McQuaid outscored its opponents 97-6 and senior Tommy Gallina was part of 18 shutouts. McQuaid's victory ended an 11-year large school title drought for Section V, and the result is believed to have made second-year head coach and former Rochester Rhinos player Nino Pilato the first coach to win boys and girls state titles in New York. He guided Greece Odyssey to a title in 2012.
16 (16) Kearny Kearny, NJ 19-0-5*
Season Complete. New Jersey Group 4 state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,750 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Jose Escandon, a junior, scored twice and Ryan Valdez added a clincher in the closing seconds as Kearny returned to the top of the New Jersey public school scene with a 3-1 win over Princeton. The win marked Kearny's 17th state title, but first since the early 2000s. The program was a juggernaut during the 1980s and 1990s. In the state semifinals, Kearny edged Bridgewater-Raritan in a shootout following a scoreless match.

Bridgewater-Raritan Bridgewater, NJ 17-0-4*
Season Complete. New Jersey Group 4 state semifinalist.
School Facts: Public, 2,875 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Bridgewater-Raritan's season ended in a shootout loss to Kearny in the state semifinals. The match ended as a scoreless tie before the shootout. Bridgewater-Raritan posted nine shutouts in its last 10 matches.

Cicero Morton Cicero, IL 23-2-2*
Season Complete. Illinois Class AAA Super-Sectional runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 8,100 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Morton's season ended with a 1-0 loss to eventual state champion Naperville North in the Super-Sectional round (state quarterfinals). Morton was the Pepsi Co. Showdown runner-up and spent the entire season in the FAB 50. The Mustangs have lost to the eventual state champion each of the past four years.

Season Complete. Pennsylvania Class 4A state quarterfinalist.
School Facts: Public, 3,125 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Parkland's season ended with a 1-0 loss to Conestoga in the state quarterfinals. Last year, Parkland was ousted by Conestoga 2-1 in the Round of 16 en route to a state title. Parkland's other defeat was a 2-1 setback to Prep School power South Kent School (Conn.). Parkland graduates 14 seniors, including top scorer Josh Kiser and keeper Jake Varrato, from a squad that allowed only nine goals in 26 matches.

Dublin Coffman Dublin, OH 18-2-2*
Season Complete. Ohio Division I state semifinalist.
School Facts: Public, 1,875 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Luck finally ran out for the Shamrocks as Dublin Coffman fell to eventual state champion Beavercreek 1-0 in double overtime in the state semifinals. Coffman, led by Georgetown commit Luke Kiley and Cornell commit Eneli Emeka, was seeking a first-ever state title. The team scored in every match until the final and hadn't been held to less than four goals in a playoff outing until the match with Beavercreek. The Shamrocks had regular season wins over Upper St. Clair (Pa.), Dunbar (Ky.) and a 5-2 victory perennial state power St. Ignatius.

Lower Dauphin Hummelstown, PA 25-2-1*
Season Complete. Pennsylvania Class AAA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,200 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: UMBC commit Jackson Becher scored twice in the first half as Lower Dauphin rolled to a 4-1 state final win over Northwestern Lehigh, a former Top 25-ranked team. Becher ended the season with 41 goals and his career with 103. A season of high expectations took a backseat early when Lower Dauphin started 2-2-1. The Falcons, however, then strung together a 23-match win streak, which included avenging both losses and the draw, en route to a second straight state title. Juniors Ryan Becher and Blake Cassel scored the other goals for the Falcons.

Albuquerque Albuquerque, NM 19-1-1*
Season Complete. New Mexico Class 6A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,800 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Carlos Gutierrez converted a penalty kick in the 77th minute to lift Albuquerque to its second state title in three seasons with a 3-2 victory over FAB 50-ranked La Cueva in a meeting of the state's top two teams. Gutierrez gave Albuquerque a 1-0 lead, assisted by Luca Seazzu. Gutierrez later served up Rado Josoa's goal that gave the team a 2-1 advantage. Only three minutes after giving up a game-tying penalty kick, Albuquerque's Seazzu was fouled in the box setting up Gutierrez's winner.

C. Milton Wright Bel Air, MD 15-2-2*
Season Complete. Maryland Class 3A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,425 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: St. John's commit Ryan Miller delivered a crucial save in the shootout to help C.M. Wright capture a first-ever boys soccer state title with a victory over Great Mills following a 2-2 match. Jake Spurlock converted the winning PK for the Mustangs, which had made three previous state final appearances. Brett Lindsey and Jayson Butler scored C.M. Wright's regulation goals as the game was 2-2 at halftime. C.M. Wright's only losses were one-goal setbacks to No. 13 Salesianum (Del.) and No. 14 McDonogh. Salesianum scored in the 89th minute to win that encounter.

Detroit Catholic Central Novi, MI 21-2-4*
Season Complete. Michigan Division 1 state champion.
School Facts: Private, all-boys, 1,000 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Ryan Pierson converted a penalty kick with just under 7 minutes remaining as Detroit Catholic Central edged Walled Lake Central 1-0 for the program's first state title. The goal was the 32nd on the season for Pierson, who has committed to Saginaw Valley State. Detroit Catholic Central has been a major player in Michigan high school athletics, but a soccer title had eluded the school for 39 years. During that 39-year run, the school has collected 48 team state titles in other sports.

Season Complete. North Carolina Class 4A state runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 2,450 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Hough's win streak ended at 23 with a 2-1 state final setback to Cardinal Gibbons in a clash of FAB 50-ranked programs. Kyle Jeffrey scored Hough's goal, which at the time tied the contest at 1. In the state semifinals, Hough handled former Top 25-ranked and undefeated Providence 4-1 as recent Development Academy player Jackson Raymer had a goal and three assists. Raymer finished the season with 43 goals and 19 assists. A.J. Whisenant added 25 goals and 15 assists. Both players were named Class 4A all-state in North Carolina.
